Regions of Russia: 7th International Kayal Readings come to a close in Rostov oblast

7th International Kayal Readings – a historical reconstruction dedicated to the battle of Prince Igor with the Polovtsian tribes (“The Tale of Prince Igor’s Campaign”), which following the tradition takes place in the village Pogorelov (Belokalitvensky district, Rostov Oblast) will come to a close on May 18.

Its program included the inauguration of the monument “The Tale of Prince Igor’s Campaign”, Cossacks performance, photo exhibition “Native Land”, exhibition-fair “Don arts and crafts” and 2nd commercial and industrial exhibition “Innovations to village”.

Alexandr Gordienko, Head of the Don Military Historical Club n. a. M. I. Platov, announced that a festival, dedicated to “The Tale of Prince Igor’s Campaign” took place within the framework of the Kayal Readings. On May 17 more than 150 representatives of military historical clubs from Rostov, Moscow, Saratov, Ryazan, Voronezh and other Russian cities came to participate in the historical reconstruction of the battle of the Prince Igor with Polovtsi.

The three-day festival included archers’ tournaments, sword competitions, contests of historical armour and costume.
