National culture: Philologists and historians from different countries attend conference in Syktyvkar

An active preparatory work for holding 7th International scientific conference called “Semiosis and culture: philosophy and phenomenology of text” is taking place at the Komi State Pedagogical Institute in Syktyvkar, informed Natalia Aparneva, assistant rector on university’s public relations.

She informed that the 2-day conference would kick off on May 13. The event has been organized under the aegis of the Russian section of the International Academy of Sciences.

This year the conference will take place in accordance with the program of the Scientific-Educational Society for Cultural research of Russia, whose branch is registered in Syktyvkar.

Participants of the conference are going to discuss the modern state of culture, trends and directions of its development. The conference will bring together culture experts, philologists and historians from Moscow, Tartu, Syktyvkar and Ukhta. Poster reports will be delivered by scholars from Finland, Poland, Belorussia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, as well as prominent researches from Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Among the reports to be delivered at the conference are: “Russian Semiosis: decay or deconstruction?”, “Avatar as a symbol of modern culture”, “On the issue of psychosemiotics of a film”, “On two concepts of aesthetics of Dostoevsky”, “Destruction of the myths image of Russia in satirical essays”, “Representation as a phenomenon of Russian language culture” etc.
