Russian language abroad: Russian language laboratory opens at Sevan Seminary

Russian Language laboratory has opened at the Armenian Vazgenyan Theological Seminary of the Sevan Monastery, located on the shore of Lake Sevan in the eastern Armenian province.

The inauguration ceremony attracted Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II.

In his welcome speech Rector of the Seminary Reverend Father Gevorg Saroyan remarked that the language laboratory for the Russian language improvement appeared on the initiative of the Chairman of the Armenian community in St. Petersburg Karen Mkrtchyan. For more than 2 years he has been helping the seminary to buy theological literature and providing students with textbooks for Russian language.

The St. Petersburg Alexander Nevsky Theological Academy also paid contribution to the development of the language laboratory.

The opening ceremony of the language laboratory also brought together the rector of the St. Petersburg Orthodox Theological Seminary and Academy Bishop Amvrosy of Gatchina, and Consul General of Armenia in St. Petersburg Vardan Akopyan.
