International events: Cooperation between the French and Russian regions

The protocol on establishment of friendly relations between a Russian town Vologda and a French town Elancour signed in France. The Agreement was concluded on the initiative of Elancour mayor Mr. Jean-Michel Fourge. According to him, the official friendly relations will guarantee a successful cooperation in future.

The Head of Vologda Mr. Ye. Shulyopov noted that the Agreement will make a good start for a greater cultural and touristic exchange between the two towns.

The partnership between Russia and France arose relatively recently but already have serious prospective. Thus, ‘Tales Optronic’ company is already supplying Vologda Optics and Mechanics Factory with components.  This year the understanding was also reached for the joint development of more modern technology at the factory.

The partnership will contribute to the exchange of scientific ideas and practical experience in order to develop science intensive technology at the manufacture. It is also planned to create the joint production of ‘eyes’ for military materiel.
