IT and authority: Social network service brings together Moscow oblast officials

9 June 2010

Minister of Communications and Mass Media of Russia, Igor Shchegolev, paid a visit to the Moscow oblast Unified E-government Center. There he learnt that the Moscow City Government had launched a virtual community aimed at municipal officials, which enabled them to share expertise in e-government introduction.

The portal “Municipalochka”, analogues to the All-Russian network called “Regionalochka” (mounted in April), brings together 378 municipal formations, which are implementing e-government. Igor Shchegolev stressed the urgency of enabling specialists share expertise in rendering government’s services to citizens in the electronic form. He also came up with an idea to integrate Moscow “Municipalochka” into the federal “Regionalochka”.

The Moscow oblast Unified E-government Center includes server infrastructure, equipment supporting communication links, as well as a situation center. This equipment will become a platform enabling to create oblast e-government and render government’s services. All systems of Moscow oblast departments are unified into a single website of Moscow oblast government, whose services have been integrated into the federal portal of government’s services.
