Education and Society: New educational standards to be introduced gradually
New educational standards will be introduced at Russian schools gradually, informed Andrei Fursenko, the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
Andrei Fursenko says “undoubtedly, we can’t introduce the new standard at all the classes at once, it means that people will have their preparation system destroyed". He remarked that the standard for the elementary school was approved, whereas the educational standard for the middle school up to the 9th form was prepared and being discussed by the public. The Minister emphasized that standards would be introduced gradually.
"Education – is an area, which can’t stand revolutions, it should be an evolutionary process with elaborate plans and experiments", - Fursenko considers.
The standard lists three principles. First – what a person should know after completing this or that course. Second, which conditions should be created to enable the person learn. This includes teachers’ qualification, textbooks’ quality, equipment at classes, technical secondary schools and universities. And last but not least, the program’s structure. Then programs are being developed on the basis of these standards.
