Library cooperation: Bahrain and UK libraries to boost ties

22 July 2010

Following His Majesty King Hamad's directives to establish the King Hamad Library (KHL), Education Minister Dr Majed Al Nuaimi visited the British Library, British Museum, Cambridge University, Oxford University and The UK National Archives and discussed co-operation.

The KHL aims to transform the kingdom into a highly developed hub of digital information through enabling its users to avail all information provided by world libraries.

Dr Al Nuaimi also signed a memorandum of understanding with British Library chief executive officer Dr Lynne Brindley to train Bahrainis and allow KHL customers to access British Library's documents and digital information.
