Internet resources: Archimaine and Notrefamille.com team up to protect France’s archival heritage

In the mid. July “Archimaine”, a French company which specializes in archives’ digitization, became the branch of the French NotreFamille.com company – the leader among providers of Internet services in genealogy. The Head and founder of NotreFamille.com Toussaint Roze announced that due to “Archimaine” his company would get an opportunity to speed up its development on the market of providing genealogical services for general public.

“Archimaine, founded in 1994 by Didier Caplan, was lately developing technologies and infrastructure for digitization, storage and creation of a large virtual reading room, which enabled to familiarize with archival documents. 

Remaining under the control of Jacques de Baglion, “Archimaine” will in parallel participate in projects, undertaken by Notrefamille.com, and go on with its mission aimed at rendering services to the government sector and in particular to local governments.

“Today Notrefamille.com is implementing a unique project intended for digitization and cataloguing of the archival heritage of France. By making a contribution towards this project, we acquire an opportunity to speed up the development of innovative technologies, which have been being successfully implemented for 15 years”, - commented Jacques de Baglion the integration of his company with Notrefamille.com.
