IT and education: Modular course “Digital libraries 2010” kicks off in the Netherlands

From 26 – 30 July 2010 Tilburg University (the Netherlands) jointly with LIBER (Ligue des Bibliothèques Européennes de Recherche), JISC (Joint Information System Committee), Denmark’s Electronic Research Library, University of Helsinki Library and Norwegian Association of Special Libraries will launch a modular course entitled “Digital libraries 2010”. Modular course aims to prepare librarians to the future, however some modules are relevant to publishers, researchers or IT specialists. The event is represented by 5 modules (one day each):

·       Module 1 (26 July): Strategic Developments and Library Management;

·       Module 2 (27 July): The Library in the Scholar’s Workflow and Research Data;

·       Module 3 (28 July): Libraries – Partners in Teaching and Learning;

·       Module 4 (29 July): Mobile Technologies (including e-readers) in Education and Libraries;

·       Module 5 (30 July): Web 2.0 and Linked Data in Libraries.
