Libraries of Russia: Book Festival “Open world of libraries”

On July 2 2010 took place a final event of the 5th Book Festival called “Open World of Libraries”.

Within the framework of the festival in accordance with the “The Russian Library Association’s Plan of key professional events for 2010” was held the session of the Interregional round table “Organization and management of methodological activities in the region”.

The event brought together librarians from regional universal scientific libraries of St. Petersburg, Moscow, Tambov, Volgograd, Pskov, Nizhny Novgorod, Bryansk, Saransk (Republic of Mordovia), Tolyatti, Samara, Cheboksary (Chuvash Republic), Yoshkar-Ola (Mari El Republic), Kostanay (Republic of Kazakhstan). Participants discussed a wide range of issues, among them organization and priority directions of the scientific and methodological activities of central libraries, problems of personnel potential of libraries, continuing professional education, development and support of creative initiatives of librarians.
