Information technology and society: Owners of electronic books read more
The public opinion poll carried out by Marketing and Research Resources Company, has shown that owners of electronic books read more than those who still prefer the literature on a paper.
According to ‘Ruformator’ with the reference to The Wall Street Journal, 1200 owners of Kindle, iPad и Sony Reader have taken part in the poll. 40% of them said that after having acquired an e-reader they started to read more. 58% said that they read as much as before and 2% confessed that read less.
Amazon Internet shop in his turn declared that its clients who had acquired Kindle e-reader buy 3.3 times more books via Internet than before.
The poll made by Book Industry Study Group Company proved that among owners of e-readers men prevail (52%) over women (48%). As to those who buy ‘paper’ literature women lead.
