President of Russia: D. A. Medvedev ordered to supply schools, hospitals and libraries with information systems

Russian President D. A. Medvedev entrusted the Government and the Heads of the regions with supply educational, cultural institutions and health services including schools, hospitals and libraries with modern information systems.

By July 1st, 2011 the government is charged with creation of the national library resource with the uniform catalogue on the basis of digitized collections of the Russian State Library, the National Library of Russia, the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library, the libraries of the State Academies of Science of the RF as well as state and municipal public libraries.

More to this, high executive bodies of the RF constituent territories are charged with equipping regional and municipal public libraries with computer equipment, software, broadband Internet access and the access to the national library resource.
