International conferences: International conference “French in academic and intellectual life of Russia in 18th – 20th cc.” kicked off in Moscow

International scientific conference “French in academic and intellectual life of Russia in 18th – 20th cc.” was launched in Moscow on September 16 2010 within the framework of the “Russian-French cultural and scientific relations in 18th – 20th cc.” project  and is timed to the Year of Russia in France and the Year of France in Russia.

The conference has been organized by the Institute of the World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Roland Mousnier Center (National Research Center, University of Paris-Sorbonne), archives of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian State University for the Humanities. The conference has attracted prominent historians, culture experts, philologists, archivists of Russia and France who specialize in this subject area.

Within the framework of the conference participants will have a chance to familiarize themselves with new documents and materials of the RF State Archive, the Russian Academy of Sciences Archive and archive repositories of France concerning Russian-French scientific, literary, and political relations during 18th – 20th cc.

The conference will be opened up to September 18.
