Regions of Russia: Action “Author-race. Moscow International Book Fair visits regions” sets off to 13 regions of Russia

On September 15 2010 at the first Interregional Orthodox Book Fair “Joy of a word” in the city of Kaluga took place a presentation of a Complex of information and library service: “Orthodox culture by means of new information technologies for children and youth”, within the framework of the launch of a special action called “Author-race: Moscow international Book Fair visits regions”.

Within the framework of the target program “Culture of Russia (2006-2011) the non-commercial “Pushkin library” Foundation jointly with the RF Ministry of Culture is implementing a project of a mobile library service system in regions of Russia by means of introduction of the complex of information and library service. Complex of information and library service is a modern mobile library which makes use of the state-of-the-art technologies.

In order to popularize a socially important project the foundation is launching a special action in the regions of Russia. The action called “Author-race: Moscow International Book Fair visits regions” will set off to 13 regions of Russia: Kaluga, Yaroslavl, Belgorod, Oryol, Tula, Kursk, Nizhniy Novgorod, Vladimir, Penza, Saratov, Ryazan Oblasts, Chuvash Republic and Republic of Tatarstan in September - November 2010.

The aim of the action is to familiarize heads of regions and concerned target groups with the facilities of the complex, new services available on the platform of the complex of information and library service.

The program of the action includes book and multimedia exhibitions, virtual tours to literary museums and meetings with writers, presentations of children’s literature and magazines, introduction of laureates of major Russian literary awards, live web-casts featuring round tables with writers, publishers, book distributors, critics, contests and quizzes from the leading publishers of Russia. A journalist-blogger on board of the complex will cover all the events on Internet.
