International conferences: “E-century of culture” conference kicks off Sept.13 2010

The 9th International scientific and practical conference “E-century of culture” will be launched on September 13 - 17 2010 in Listvyanka village, Irkutsk Oblast.

In 2010 the conference “E-century of culture” will take place jointly with an annual scientific and practical conference of the Russian Association of Electronic Libraries. A special event “Electronic libraries” will be dedicated to the latter conference. High on the agenda are problems and accomplishments in sector of electronic libraries and collections.

The key directions of the “ E-century of culture” conference are to define and discuss concrete ways of informatization of various fields of culture – libraries, museums, theatres, educational institutions, their practical solution, familiarization with the state-of-the-art achievements in computer technology, information digitization, as well as new ways of data transfer, exchange and storage.

The program includes plenary sessions on the following topics: “Electronic resources of culture – freedom of access and copyright” (September 14), "University’s informatization level – basics of success of future specialists" (September 15), "Electronic libraries" (September 16) and round tables “Full-text search” (September 14), "Registration of copyrights and property rights to digital content and providing rights for using digital content" (September 16).
