The first stage of the multi-service information educational network implementation has been completed at “Renaissance” school № 2 (Tula). Thanks to it in the very beginning of the new school year pupils had a chance to learn about great opportunities of the “Interactive school” project.

The key goal of the “Interactive school” project is to develop methodological potential and expand educational opportunities with the aid of IT introduction in the learning process for cardinal improvement of education. As the result of the multi-service information educational network implementation at “Renaissance” school a “School’s server” complex was introduced. The complex will control all 30 classrooms, united into a single local computing network.

Four classrooms will be equipped with special interactive boards allowing demonstration of explanatory materials, drawings, schemes and tasks for pupils on its screen. Like a traditional board, this one may be used for writing and drawing with an electronic stylus pen instead of chalk. What is more, children don’t have to come out to the board: a special electronic graphic tablet makes it possible to display information from the working seat on the board.

Within the framework of further stages of the project in 16 classrooms teacher’s working seats will be automated and a controlling computer installed. A mobile computer classroom will be organized at school. If necessary the mobile classroom may be operatively relocated to any of school’s classrooms. “Classroom on wheels” unites 25 pupil’s notebooks and a teacher’s mobile computer with installed basic and specialized software for collective lessons into one class WiFi-network.

Besides, in the school hall there will be an interactive panel with a sensor screen, which fulfils the role of a database about all processes which take place at school. The interactive panel is available to any pupil any time. It also provides Internet access.

“Renaissance” school headmaster Valery Avrutin believes that “Interactive school” project implementation in Tula is a beginning of the new stage of education development in Oblast and a serious step for building an integrated educational Information environment countrywide.
