Libraries of Russia: Traditional campaign “Vivat, student! Vivat, library!” takes place in Samara

On September 1 - 30 2010 the Samara Regional Universal Scientific Library is holding a traditional campaign “Vivat, student! Vivat, library!”

One of the key goals of the campaign is to familiarize students with the richest resources of not only print editions but library’s electronic databases as well. Participants will have a unique chance to get a clear picture of the library’s inner work, hidden from the reader’s eyes and receive a library card.

Within the framework of the action visitors of the library will familiarize themselves with original exhibitions and contests. First-year students will have an opportunity to take part in training events “Information culture of users” in order to learn how to work with catalogues and card indexes of the regional library.

All participants of the campaign will get special bonuses and discounts for copying, scanning, recording on audio cassettes from laser discs, free use of books from the main book repository etc.
