The Lomonosov Moscow State University is ready to make its electronic libraries available for general public after it settles all copyright issues, announced Rector of the University Viktor Sadovnichiy.

Rector clarified that copyright settlements reached, public access to the university’s library funds would be guaranteed.

At the RF State Council session President of Russia Dmitry A. Medvedev addressed heads of regions and universities’ rectors and stressed that restriction of access to universities’ electronic libraries was a mistake. He reckons that universities are to provide open access to their electronic libraries being a “public domain”.
