Regions of Russia: Unique collection of rare books will be restored in Ulyanovsk

The 250th birthday anniversary of Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin will be celebrated in 2016. Within the framework of the State Council session, which took place in November 2009 in Ulyanovsk oblast, RF President Dmitry Medvedev familiarized himself with a project of celebrations’ organization marking 250th birthday jubilee of Nikolai Karamzin.

Preparation works cover restoration works in the Lenin Regional Scientific library building, construction of the new State Archive building, beautification of Karamzin public garden, restoration of a unique collection of rare books dating back to 18th – 19th cc. housed in the Karamzin Public Library etc.
