Libraries of Russia: Exhibition “Sep.2 – Day of the end of World War II (1945)” kicks off in Murmansk

The exhibition called “Sep.2 – Day of the end of World War II (1945)” will kick off at the Murmansk State Regional Universal Scientific library.

Visitors of the exhibition will have a chance to familiarize themselves with documents on WWII, which lasted for six years and one day and came to an end in the Far East on September 2 1945. The exhibition will be opened at the Periodicals Department up to September 20.

On July 25 2010 RF President Dmitry Medvedev signed the Federal Law “Concerning Amendments to Article No. 11 of the Federal Law “On Dates of Military Glory and Memorial Dates in Russia”. The law was adopted by the State Duma on July 7 and approved by the Council of Federation on July 14 2010. The Federal law adds a new date to the list of the country’s memorial celebrations: September 2 which is declared the End of World War II (1945).
