Publishing and Book Distribution: International Book Fair in Belgrade

The International Book Fair in Belgrade (Serbia) featuring the Russian National stand will be open up to October 31 2010.

The Russian stand welcomed its first visitors on October 25 and the first days of the fair’s work displayed a keen interest taken by Serbians in the Russian literature and culture. Alexander Konuzin, Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Serbia, who attended the opening ceremony of the Russian stand, mentioned that it was in Serbia that people showed a particular respect and awe for Russia, its culture and literature.

Following the tradition of Russia’s participation in international book fairs, most books, displayed at the national stand, will remain in Serbia. Books will be donated to the library of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Serbia and the University of Belgrade.
