Russian culture abroad: Three hundred books on the history of Russia, philosophy and theology donated to Macedonia

Three hundred books of the leading Russian publishing houses which turn the light on the history of Russia, philosophy, theology, philology, and art were donated to Macedonia during the solemn ceremony which took place on October 27 2010 at the Saints Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje. Among other books are Russian classics and modern literature, books which focus reader’s attention on historical and cultural heritage of the Russian emigration, textbooks on Russian language. The ceremony was organized by the Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of Russian Abroad with participation of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Macedonia.

Alexander Alexeev, attaché for culture of the Russian Embassy in Skopje, believes that “this event is one of the links of a continuous cultural interaction between Macedonia and Russia”. He also underscored that he was very happy that Macedonian citizens were given an opportunity to better familiarize themselves with works of Russian writers.
