Internet resources: The University of Chicago releases a collection of Indian audio recordings on Internet

A unique collection of audio resources, recorded in India in the beginning of 20th c. has become freely available online.

The collection covers songs and oral stories. All of them were recorded by British colonial authorities as a teaching resource for those British officials, who showed interest in learning different Indian dialects. 

The vast collection of audio recordings was released on the Internet by the University of Chicago, South Asia Library.
