Stories which cast light on famous Russian expatriates and sites in Great Britain connected with their names have made the basis of the book “Russian presence in Great Britain”, which was presented in London on November 25 2010.

Work over the book took several years, within this time were collected stories of different subjects, times and styles. They have been written by various people – from British servicemen, historians and specialist of Russian Studies, as well as Russian conductors, teachers and writers.

Its compilers say that this book of collected stories has become the first stage of the large project bearing the same name. In the near future it is planned to publish the English counterpart of the book, being not very difficult, as long as a part of materials has been already submitted in English language. Editors have received more texts than they had expected, therefore on the horizon is the second volume of the book as well as the launch of the project’s website.

The book has been issued with support of the Russian Embassy in the Great Britain.
