Russian language abroad: Conference of Russian language teachers kicked off in Armenia

The First International scientific and practical conference of teachers of Russian language and literature from Armenia, Russia, other CIS countries and Baltic States kicked off on November 24 2010 in Yerevan.

The conference centered around the following topics: “Russian language at schools with teaching in Russian language”, “Russian language at schools with extensive Russian language teaching”, “Russian language at comprehensives”, “National language policy and bilingualism in CIS member-states”, “Problems of Russian language teaching as a foreign”.

The conference “Modern trends in teaching Russian language and literature at comprehensive schools” has been organized by the Russia’s Methodological Russian Language Center, Rossotrudnichestvo office in Armenia, the Armenian Association of Russian Philologists, the Armenian Association of Teachers of Russian language and literature at comprehensives, the Union of Russian Universities’ Graduates under the patronage of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Armenia.
