Internet resources: Collection of archival documents “Way to Nuremberg” goes online
To mark the 65th anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials (20.11.1945 – 01.10.1946) the Federal Archival Agency has released a collection of electronic archival documents entitled “Way to Nuremberg” on the official website of Russia’s Archives (Rosarkhiv) and in the section “Editions and publications” of the “Russia’s Archives” portal.The collection features documents of the Russian State Archive, the Russian State Archive of Social and Political History, the Archive of International Policy of the Russian Federation (the Historical and Documentary Department, the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Russia), the Russian State Documentary Film and Photo Archive. The preface has been written by the leading Russian researcher of the history of the Nuremberg Trials — N.S. Lebedeva (Institute of the World History, Russian Academy of Sciences).
Unveiled documents from the holdings of the international military tribunal over chief Nazi criminals (the Nuremberg Trials), minutes of meetings and resolutions of the Political Bureau (Politburo) of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (including Politburo’s “Special Folders”), documents from private funds of J.V. Stalin, V.M. Molotov, A.Ya. Vyshinsky cast the light on little-known pages of the history of the trials, connected with its preparation and participation of the Soviet Union in the International Military tribunal.
