IT and Society: Book about Web technologies goes on Internet

Google has unveiled a new e-Book which familiarizes the general public with modern technologies – such as HTML5, AJAX, “cloud” computing.

The book entitled ”20 Things I Learned about the Browser and the Web” generates interest first and foremost by its manner of presentation. Unlike traditional editions about web developments which are aimed at specialists, this work is intended for people who are not sophisticated IT users, and represents the material in a simple language. The text is illustrated by the famous designer Christoph Niemann.

The book compilers laid special emphasis on open-source software. Thus the book features chapters on HTML5, Open Source and Browsers, Malware, Phishing and Security Risks, Web applications etc.

The illustrated book was designed for HTML-5 compliant browsers thus to read it online you will need latest versions of Mozilla Firefox, Opera or Google Chrome. The book can be also downloaded in PDF format.
