Regions of Russia: Book Expo-Fair “World of Books in Penza land”

The Second Interregional Book Expo-Fair “World of Books in Penza land” is taking place on November 19 - 25 2010 in Penza.

Among its organizers are the Ministry of Culture and Archives of Penza Oblast, M.Yu. Lermontov Penza Regional Library, Penza Representative office of the “Russian Book Union” non-profit partnership.

The purpose of the Expo-Fair is to unveil the repertoire of the leading Russian publishers, variety of goods and opportunities of book retailers, as well as to keep the population and libraries aware of best examples of book culture and their creators.

The moving idea of the exhibition, organized within the framework of the International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures – “Books – are symbols of culture, bridges for rapprochement and mutual understanding of different peoples, countries and generations”.

A special place at the Expo-Fair will be the events targeted at promotion of the national book. The exhibition invites national libraries and publishers of the Republic of Mordovia, Tatarstan, and Chuvashia to join its work. At the exhibition will be summed up the results and awarded the winners of the creative contest “Friendship of Peoples in the Eyes of Children”.

The cultural program of the Expo-Fair will come to an end with holding of the Fifth Annual Campaign for reading promotion “Reading – is great!”
