Russian culture abroad: Festival of Russian Culture kicks off in Donetsk

Festival of Russian Culture is taking place in Donetsk Region November 14 - 21 within the framework of the regional program focused on development of the Russian language and Russian culture in Donetsk Region within 2008–2011.

The festival has been organized by the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Donetsk Regional Council, Department for Culture and Tourism.

The aim of the festival is promotion of the Russian culture and consolidation of creative commonwealth of Ukrainian and Russian peoples, having common Slavic roots, as well as support of Russian national and cultural associations.

The program of the Festival of Russian Culture includes performances by Russian classical writers, Russian poetry evenings, retrospective show of Russian films, as well as exhibitions of Russian literature, which will be unveiled at regional concert halls of Donetsk, Makeevka and Mariupol.
