IT and Authority: Cooperation between Russia and Japan in the field of ICT discussed in Moscow

On November 12 2010, Moscow, the Vice-Minister of Communications and Mass Media of Russia, Ilya Massukh, and the Vice-Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, Yamakawa Tetsuo, discussed the prospects of collaboration between Russia and Japan in the field of Information and Communication Technologies.

High on the agenda were such important issues as a possibility of using Russian channels as transit for data transmit from Japan to Europe, cooperation in the field of scientific centers and industry, building of the e-govt system, as well as development of digital television, which is expected to provide access to the elements of e-govt in Russia. Representatives of the Russian side expressed hope for cooperation with Japanese companies.

Participants paid special attention to interaction between companies, which develop software solutions in the field of telecommunication technologies.
