Russian language abroad: Russian language Week launched in Uzbekistan

The Russian Language Week, organized jointly by the Lomonosov Moscow State University Center of International Education, Rossotrudnichestvo representative office and the Uzbek State World Languages University, was launched at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Tashkent on November 9 - 12 2010.

The program of the “Week” covered a scientific and practical seminar, roundtable discussion which brought into focus problems concerning implementation of modern technologies of Russian language teaching in foreign language environment, a master class “Vocabulary practice of foreign students considering contemporary language processes”, an open lesson “Interactive lessons of Russian language as foreign for beginners”.

Within the framework of the roundtable discussion representatives of the Center of International Education and teachers of educational institutions of the Republic shared ideas related to Russian language teaching.

The exhibition of reference literature from Russia for Russian language teachers, organized by the Russian Center of Science and Culture, was also timed to holding of the Russian language Week.

Among other events of the “Week” were: lecture on the subject “Literary Internet-texts: form and content” and practical seminar for Russian language teachers at the Samarkand Polytechnical lyceum.
