Memory of Russia and the World: Photo exhibition about Volgograd unveiled in Bulgaria

The photo exhibition of N. Nikonova “The City-Hero of Volgograd”, timed to 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, has opened at the Russian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia (Bulgaria).

The exhibition puts on show photographs featuring the Mamayev Kurgan, ruined walls, the Square of Heroes, the Hall of Warrior Glory and “The Motherland Calls” statue.

The exhibition displays images of the main monuments of the city of Volgograd, “The Battle of Stalingrad” panorama, the Volga River landscapes etc. This all helps to create the mood and atmosphere of the City-Hero, which entered the world history as a symbol of unbending courage and bravery, immortal military glory of Russia.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition brought together veterans of the Great Patriotic War, members of the Russian club in Sofia.
