Regions of Russia: Exhibition marks anniversary of judicial system of Khakassia

The National Archive of the Republic of Khakassia has unveiled an exhibition which marks the anniversary of judicial system of Khakassia entitled “80 years of service to Justice”.

The exhibition welcomes visitors to familiarize themselves with archival materials dating back to 1826.  All the displayed documents have been arranged into three sections: the history of judicial system development in the Republic of Khakassia; work of the court since its foundation; the section on people’s judges, who worked in the courts of Khakassia.

Of particular interest are the documents which describe a punitive policy on criminal cases of the Khakass district court in 1939; materials providing the analysis of juvenile crimes and measures undertaken in order to struggle against it in the Khakass Autonomous Oblast in 1935, as well as documentary evidences, telling about actions against neglect, plans of extra actions on consolidation of struggle with neglect and crime among juvenile delinquents in the Khakass Autonomous Oblast in 1963.

The archival exposition releases detailed information on the work of people’s courts of the Khakass Autonomous Oblast within 1940-1954.

The exhibition “80 years of service to Justice” opened on November 12 2010 and will work until the end of 2010.
