IT and Libraries: Interactive roundtable discussion “E-Library systems – Seeking a Compromise”

On November 12 2010 the “University Book” journal jointly with the Russian Association of Electronic Libraries are holding an interactive roundtable discussion entitled “E-Library Systems – Seeking a Compromise”, which brings into focus the issues of providing access to electronic-library systems (EBS) at the universities.

The roundtable discussion is launched online, in the format of the web conference with a live webcast on the Russian Association of Electronic Libraries’ website www.aselibrary.ru.

High on the agenda of the discussion will be the issues concerning development of e-resources at university libraries, immediate prospects of EBS improvement in Russia, interaction between commercial e-content aggregators, trends in the state regulation of innovative methods in education and ensuring conditions for research work at the higher school.

The webcast of the interactive roundtable discussion will be launched on November 12 2010 at 10 am at www.aselibrary.ru.
