Libraries of Russia: Book timed to 65th anniversary of Victory unveiled in Murmansk

The Murmansk Regional Scientific Library launched a presentation of the book by Lev Zhurin “Farewell, rocky mountains…” dedicated to 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and protectors of the Sredniy and Rybachiy peninsulas.

In his book the author undertook an attempt to bring together historical accounts and chronology of defensive actions and battles of military units, which had been defending the Sredniy and Rybachiy peninsulas in 1941 – 1944, preserved in archives and recollections of veterans.

Lev Vasilyevich Zhurin – is a famous local lore specialist and searcher, veteran of the Great World War, honorary citizen of Murmansk Oblast and the City Hero Murmansk.
