“Yandex” has launched its new search algorithm, known by name “Krasnodar”.

The new “Yandex” search software is based on “Spektr” technology. One of the technology’s key features is showing answers to users’ queries, which are based on the statistics of most visited links.

Thus, “Yandex” will analyze which links were the most popular among users, who was looking for the same information. This statistics will enable the search engine to automatically change search results list for future users.

“Yandex” hopes that this technology will offer users more relevant links when inputting search queries. In particular, “Spektr” will help to enhance the show of search results, based on incomplete or implicit queries. The search results list will feature links which proved more popular among search engine users.

The previous version of “Yandex” search algorithm called “Obninsk” came out in September 2010. By giving names to search programs “Yandex” is directed by rules of the “towns” game. While the name “Obninsk” ended in “K” letter, the next program was to start with this very letter. “Obninsk” was preceded by the program called “Konakovo”.
