The Presidential Library to broadcast the concert of Anna Netrebko and Erwin Schrott
December 11, 2010 the Presidential Library will broadcast the “Opera Gala” concert from the Opera and Ballet Theater of St. Petersburg conservatory. Thus everyone who will happen to be in the Presidential Library Conference Hall, the Youth House in Tsarskoye Selo, the Jam Hall cinema and Rakhmaninov Art School will be given an opportunity to join the spectators in the Conservatory Theater.
The concert and its broadcast will be a part of the “Music night in St. Petersburg” festival, organized on the initiative of the St. Petersburg Culture Committee. This year festival is held in honor of the 170th anniversary of P. I. Chaikovsky.
Simultaneous broadcast of the concert in several cultural institutions is organized with a view to expand the audience of the concert and that of the “Music night” festival. “Opera Gala” is the first joint performance in Russia of Anna Netrebko, People’s Artist of Russia and her husband Erwin Schrott, Uruguay bass-baritone. Before the concert will be demonstrated a film “Anna Netrebko: Eastern-Western diva”.
Broadcast will be organized in HD format by the personnel of the Presidential Library using its own television complex. The generated television signal from a mobile television station installed in the conservatory will sent to the Presidential Library via the channels of “Metrocom” fibre optic network. In the Library Conference Hall the concert will be demonstrated on the silver screen and great plasma monitors. Owing to the transmission of the signal, transformed by the Library television complex, via the television fibre optic channels and the channels of “Metrocom” network, the concert will be demonstrated in other places too.
It is the first time the Presidential Library will operate as the central television apparatus room, which forms a program to be broadcasted in the Library itself and in other places. The own television broadcasts and direct broadcasts of the events in the Internet on the Presidential Library portal have already become a tradition.
