65th Great Victory anniversary: “Military Glory of Altai” book sheds light on Great Patriotic War heroes

A new book entitled “Military Glory of Altai” was unveiled on December 9 2010 in Barnaul. This book has been compiled to mark 65th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The book tells about residents of the town and districts of Altai krai who took part in the Great Patriotic War, including Heroes of the Soviet Union and full cavaliers of the Order of Glory. The book also offers a list of perished soldiers as an addition to the “Book of Remembrance” of Altai Krai.

The edition features photographs of monuments, which were restored within the framework of the departmental target program “Repair and beautification of the Great Patriotic War monuments" for 2008 – 2010.
