Russian language abroad: Club of Russian language and culture buffs kicks off in Krakow

The first session of the Organizing Committee of the Russian Language and Culture Buffs Club kicked off at the Russian Center, Pedagogical University of the National Education Commission. The club was set up on the initiative of Krakow students and friends of the Russian center.

Participants of the meeting discussed the program of the club’s work and plans for the upcoming months. The club will organize meetings with prominent figures, discuss topical phenomena of the Russian language and literature. Club members are eager to share their impressions, opinions on new magazines and books, movies and programs, which turn the light on the Russian culture. They are planning to actively make use of websites and Russian databases “Rubikon” and “Integrum”, accessible to center’s visitors, and promote them among students and residents of Little Poland.

The attendees decided to meet twice a month. Their plans for the near future include preparation of a wall newspaper and rendering assistance to center’s methodologists in organization of various events targeted at promotion of Russian language in Little Poland.
