IT abroad: New version 6 of Google Earth unveiled

Google has announced an updated Google Earth 6, enabling users to explore the surface of our planet and undertake a wide range of topographic actions. In Google Earth 6 the Street View, historic galleries and 3D panoramas of several cities are fully integrated.

Google Earth represents an interactive digital atlas with elaborate search tools for various sites on the globe. A new version also gives an opportunity to see various satellite views of sites of the Earth. Google Earth 6 offers more functionality to study the surface of the planet and structure of the bottom of the World Ocean.

As for Street View support, here users may find information about the cities from 2008, when the project was launched.

The new version also offers new opportunities for control with the keyboard, model 3D view of the cities Athens, Berlin, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, Tokyo and many others. As for historic imagery, users may for example virtually go back to see London in 1945, or Warsaw in 1935.

The product is available for free for non-commercial use for Windows, Linux and Mac.
