National Culture and Church: Conference “Icon in Russian literature and culture” opens in Moscow

On January 27 - 29 2011 the Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of Russian Abroad in Moscow is holding the Seventh International scientific conference “Icon in Russian literature and culture”.

The conference has brought together scholars from Russia, Hungary, Croatia, Ukraine, Lithuania, and Russian researchers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Velikiy Novgorod, Nizhniy Novgorod, Oryol, Kaliningrad, Vladimir and other cities.

The conference will also feature a guided tour to the State Historical Museum, an exhibition of modern icon painting (T.V. Trubnikova studio) and a thematic exhibition of children’s pictures “Icon and icon painters in children’s drawings”.
