24 January 2011

This autumn the International Bank of Reconstruction and Development (MBRR) will grant a $28 mil. credit line aimed at foundation of a multifunctional museum center in the Literary and Art Museum-Estate “Priyutino”, Vsevolozhsky District, Leningrad Oblast. The project is being implemented under an agreement concluded between the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The museum center will bring together museum collections of Leningrad Oblast. The Museum’s director Leonid Mazur stressed that along with the repository the center will launch restoration workshops. Besides, the latter will be equipped so that visitors could have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with each and every stage of the restoration process. “Foundation of such a center will make Vsevolozhsk a cultural capital of Leningrad Oblast”, Leonid Mazur stressed.

Above all, the Center for Russian Language Study and Philological Expertise is also expected to appear in the “Priyutino” Museum-Estate. The center will at the start welcome officials of Leningrad Oblast.

The project will be implemented in several states and take roughly five years. Works will be launched in the late 2011.
