A historical library “Runivers” has announced about the launch of a new “Russian philosophy” portal, which will join the electronic facsimile library.

The project includes three major sections. The first one called “Russian Philosophy Library” – is an extensive e-collection which brings together books by famous Russian philosophers. Library features rare philosophical editions and thematic works, which had a major influence on formation of philosophical thought in Russia. Almost all 142 issues of the first Russian intellectual journal “Issues of Philosophy and Psychology” have been made available on Internet. At the first stage it is planned to digitize roughly a thousand of different sources, many of which came out before the Revolution and were not republished since then.

The second section – “Logospere journal”, an Internet almanac, which brings together contemporary Russian philosophers and forms a creative intellectual community. As for now, it offers access to a large number of articles.

The third “News” section unites events of the Russian intellectual sphere into a common information flow.

“We have created a web-space for all who take interest in philosophy, – told Mikhail Baranov, “Runivers” President. – It makes available all necessary books in Russian, gives a chance to publish works and receive a feedback on the part of the professional community. “Russian philosophy” project is aimed both at scholars and philosophy buffs. Above all, without leaving home users have a chance to familiarize themselves with a “golden thousand” of thematic philosophical works, which used to be available just in major libraries”.
