The National Audiovisual Institute of France L’Ina will soon enrich its content: it has signed a contract with the Paris Opera on digitization of its audiovisual and sound archives which have been being formed since 1971.

The holdings feature 10 000 data carriers which contain 7 000 hours of video and over 6 000 hours of sound. L’Ina is also responsible for storage of all records made by the Opera’s stuff: dress rehearsals, operas, ballets and concerts.

Researchers and scholars who study the history of performance, music, dance, art and lyric art, as well as all opera amateurs will get a free access to unique archives via l'Inathèque (L’Ina electronic catalogue).
