The official website of the Flights Control Center under the Russian Federal Space Agency opened a division commemorating the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin space flight.

Created a few months before the historic event of April 12, 1961, the Flights Control Center still plays a key role in manned space programs. From here are managed and controlled the flights of the International Space Station, transport spacecrafts “Soyuz” and "trucks" "Progress".

"Gagarin" section on the official website of the Federal Space Agency appeared last year. The Center was the first unit in the structure of the Russian Space Agency, to establish on its site a page devoted to the first cosmonaut of the Earth and his flight, thereby emphasizing their attitude to the significant date in the history of space exploration and to the heroism of Yuri Gagarin.

In addition to the official information, the press service of the Center has managed to find interesting facts and comments related to the first manned flight into space. The section includes a heading "Comments to the flight". It cites the statements of prominent politicians, academics and mass media.
