Publishing and Bookselling: Russia’s unique books and e-collections travel to Bologna Children’s Book Fair

Best Russian book graphic designs for children have been put on show in Bologna (Italy) at the International Children’s Book Fair, March 28 – 31, 2011.

The Bologna Children’s Book Fair has been organized in the capital of Emilia-Romagna since 1964 and is considered the leading expo for professionals in the children’s book publishing industry. Visitors of the Russian stand will find an exhibition of illustrations to children’s books made by Russian graphic-artists, and books for children provided by Moscow, St. Petersburg and regional publishing companies.

Within the framework of the Book Fair Russian exhibitors will hold roundtable discussions, dedicated to Russian children’s books and modern Russian book graphic design for children.

The second day of the fair will see a presentation of a unique edition entitled “Children’s illustrated book of Russia 1881-1939”, while the next day will be held a computer presentation of electronic collection of rare children’s books from the Russian State Children’s Library “Russia. 20th c. Books for children”.
