Internet resources: Yandex Search hints get location-related

Yandex Search Hints have become location-related considering a town user lives in.

It was in 2008 that Yandex introduced hints appearing under the search field. They show up as the user starts typing a query. Hints thus speed up query input and correct misprints. The list of hints is based on the most popular queries, which begin with the same letters as the user’s query.

In the past some regional inquiries would enter the hints, however now the list of hints completely depends on the town the user lives.

Yandex offers more than 40 million different hints. Every day people use them 25 million times.
