Memory of Russia: Vyborg re-enacts the end of Winter War

On March 13, 2011 Vyborg held a military and historical re-enactment of battles, which marked the end of the Winter War (Soviet-Finnish War).

The event was organized by the “Historical and Cultural Center” and “Svyazist” military and historical club (St. Petersburg). The event saw the re-enactment of battles on the last Finnish defensive lines on March 13 1940, as well as a new exhibition launched at the “V.I. Lenin House-Museum” called “Vyborg. March 1940” from the “Cold lessons of the Winter War” series. The exhibition showcases rare photographs and film documents from collections of the Russian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents, discoveries of search units, authentic Winter War’s exhibits from private collections, the Book of Memory of the Soviet-Finnish War of 1939-1940.
