Regions of Russia: Exhibition “Maps of the city of 18th-21st cc.” kicks off in Irkutsk

On March 13 2011 the Irkutsk Regional Local Lore Museum, the History Division is launching an exhibition “Maps of the city of 18th-21st cc.” which is timed to the Day of Workers of Geodesy and Cartography.

The exhibition puts on display maps and atlases of the city of Irkutsk spanning different centuries: from the very first maps, compiled by discoverers of Siberia to modern ones.

The program of the opening ceremony of the exhibition also involves an intellectual competition “History and Geography” where participants may test their knowledge in these areas.
