The exhibition “Tradition of Polish diplomatic and consular service” opened on March 11 2011 at the State Museum of Political History of Russia (St. Petersburg). It turns the spotlight on the activities of Polish diplomatic missions since 1918 up to present days.

The exhibition unveils photo copies of unique documents stored in archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland which show key areas of Polish diplomacy between 1918-1939, during World War II, post-war years and at the present time.

At the opening ceremony was also held a presentation of the book entitled “Polish consulates in the East”, published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, the Archives and Information Management Bureau and Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in St. Petersburg.

Special attention is attracted to the stand which showcases the uniform of the diplomatic and consular service, which was introduced following the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland of February 19 1926.

Of particular interest is a part of the exposition which brings into focus modern diplomatic and consular service. The stands display the 2010 map of the world featuring Polish consulates, modern photographs of some diplomatic missions, including the Consulate General in Vinnytsia (Ukraine), opened in 2010.
